Description

Change takes advocacy and advocacy succeeds when it is intelligent. "I Am Change" is a leadership workshop about active citizenship for the sake of humanity.

Building great leaders requires hard work from parents, teachers, clergy, and community leaders. Today’s world is a complex one and sometimes our youth are faced with issues that challenge the notion of positive change. Rather than allowing the discouraging realities around us to consume our community, we should focus on ways in which we can foster distinguished leaders who find courage in their faith and act to benefit society.

The Desmond Tutu Center, Center For Interfaith Cooperation, Peace Learning Center, Youth Power Indiana and Marion Country Commission on Youth have teamed up to offer an exciting and insightful workshop that will showcase how our very own young leaders are equipped with the talent, diversity and activism to bring about positive change where we live.

I AM CHANGE- INTERFAITH EDITION is about fostering and empowering young leaders in our diverse community. Join Congressman André Carson and local empowerment voice, Tony Styxx for a two-hour workshop will provide: (1) an insight into intelligent advocacy; (2) a powerful narrative on what it means to be civically engaged; (3) an interactive opportunity to meet and engage in discussion with various local young civic leaders making a difference today.

As Desmond Tutu states, “Differences are not intended to separate, to alienate. We are different precisely in order to realize our need of one another.”

Join us as we appreciate diversity, engage collectively, empower creativity, & build relationships.
